Our Teachers
The faculty at Our Own English High School, Boys’ Branch Sharjah, consists of a team of highly qualified and professional staff who, apart from their academic qualifications, are chosen for their dedication to their profession and proven abilities to create motivational atmospheres that help students achieve their full, all-round potential.
The performance of all staff is subject to regular review and from thereon, further training needs are identified. The training sessions ensure that our staff is up-to- date with the latest systems and programmes in the world of education, equipped to maintain our high educational standards. This enables our staff to be at the forefront of good practice and also prepares them to progress within the organisation.
All teachers at the school participate in ongoing training programmes to ensure that the strategies, methods and resources they use reflect the standards of best practice from around the world.
Teachers regularly use interactive white boards, LCD projectors, DVD players as teaching aids.
As part of our teaching philosophy, we expect teachers at the school to:
- Actively engage students in their own learning
- Systematically develop students' learning skills so that they become increasingly independent.
- Use assessments for learning techniques to help students to reflect on what they know and to set targets for the future.
Our on-going programme of professional development ensures that our teachers are up-to-date with the latest teaching methodologies and development in the curriculum.
