The Duke of Edinburgh's International Bronze Award Ceremony
On the 4th of October, 2020, Our Own English High School, Sharjah, Boys’ witnessed a historic milestone as it hosted its first ever virtual ceremony to present The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Bronze Awards. The Chief Guest for the evening was Mr. Jonathan Bramley - Vice President, Communications, GEMS Education. 28 promising participants were awarded The Bronze Awards after successfully completing the requirements for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. OOB is proud as ever in re-affirming the innate skills of its extremely talented bunch of boys who led the show independently and made it a remarkable one.
Some of the main highlights from the ceremony were:
- The event was launched virtually with an introduction of The Duke of Edinburgh’s programme, followed by the address of our Principal and CEO, Mr. Srivalsan Murugan.
- The awardees were commended for the hard work, effort, dedication, and time which they had committed towards improving their skillset and efforts in giving back to the community.
- A few of the Bronze Awardees shared their experiences about their journey to the Bronze Award. They not only unraveled the enticing experiences and the unforgettable moments, but were also eloquent about how the programme gave them an experience of a lifetime.
The ceremony finally concluded with the Chief Guest, Mr. Jonathan Bramley, addressing the audience and enraptured the audience with his discourse about his ownjourney. The ceremony reached its culmination with a musical performance by a quartet of the OOB Rhapsody team that wowed the audience. OOB is so proud to deliver.
