The corridors of OOB, Sharjah, resonated and reverberated with festivity, cheer and gaiety on 1st May, 2018 as the Arabic and the Islamic Department celebrated Hag Al Laila, reminiscing the centuries old tradition of announcing the onset of the holy month of Ramadan. Hag Al Laila meaning "For this night" falls in the middle of the eighth month of the Islamic Hijri calendar. Children go around singing 'Give us sweets tonight'. As the colourful procession of students in traditional attire holding Ramadan lanterns wound it's way along the corridors, it spread happiness and reiterated the values of giving and sharing- the essence of the holy month of Ramadan. The enthusiastic participation of the Determined Ones was a shining example of inclusion. The festivity concluded with the Principal and the Headmistress Designate distributing candy bags to the Grade 1 students.
