“I believe that writer’s block is not a disease, but the symptom.”- Ms. Claudia Gray

On 10th November, 2016, renowned author Ms. Claudia Gray (a.k.a Amy Vincent) visited Our Own Boys’. Amaan Iqbal Ibrahim of Grade 10 and Nikhil Shobu Verghese of Grade 12 had the honor of interacting with her and asking her the questions millions of people yearned to ask. The students were even elated to hear Ms. Gray speak to Somesh Chakkraborty of Grade 11, a die-hard Star Wars fan, about her two Star Wars books- Bloodline and Lost Stars. She also put some Star Wars conspiracies to rest. During the interview, she answered questions on her literary life as well as her personal life. On the dreaded writer’s block, she said, “I believe that writer’s block is not a disease, but the symptom.” An extremely humorous lady, she kept the show lively herself from the beginning to the end. She also spoke about her childhood obsession with the Star Wars series and spoke about how she wanted to turn her closet into a spaceship. A portrait of Ms. Gray, painted by Abishek Pratap Singh of Grade 11, was presented to her. Eric of Grade 11, created an excellent introductory video and Ms. Gray requested for a copy of it to keep as a memory.  Pranav Menon, a young author studying at Our Own Boys’, presented Ms. Gray with an autographed copy of his book.
