“The secrets of life and self - discovery are revealed to those who abide by two rules-to read and having read, to gain experience”, said Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. In line with our ethos to propagate reading as a culture and a habit, our school celebrated the International School Library month in the month of October. There were several Read-Aloud Sessions in English and Arabic scheduled, by the teachers to the students and students to the Principal and Supervisors. A wall puzzle created by the teachers was an added perk to the month-long celebration. The Entire School participated in a DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) Session on Wednesday 19th October, 2016. The Primary department arranged a ‘READ & LEAD programme, where students of higher grades read to the boys of the lower grades. The most attractive part was the ‘READER’S DEN, arranged in the primary corridor. A Book Fair was organized on the 24th and 25th of this month. A wide range of titles were available for the students to buy at discounted rates. It was an enthralling fortnight, originally conceived to promote our school library as a catalyst for learning. The outcome of this event signified the fact that we have forged a step further towards developing the library into a motivating and flexible learning space for our students.
We believe that books indeed are man’s best friend!
