“There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One of these is roots, the other wings, not to forget the preciousness of time”. With this adage in mind, OOB has been instrumental in organizing a plethora of activities to strengthen the bond between the two, under the aegis of Parental Engagement from 7 November to 10 December, 2018. The sessions were as diverse as were creatively stimulating enhancing the personal, emotional and social development of an impressionable mind. Zealous parents engaged the student community in a range of activities from the preparation of healthy sandwiches to a boisterous father –son football match, from spending time at an Old Age Home to tips on personality development, nutrition and healthy diet and 5s methodology. Basic guitar lessons imparted, proved to be a star attraction. Instructing the finer nuances of the Arabic Language through a simple yet an easy to remember manner was indisputably a crowd puller.
The importance of reading was reiterated through the Parent’s Read Aloud sessions, Prophet (PBUH) stories by the Primary Department held in the classrooms while the Senior Middle Department convened it’s sessions in the Library as part of the Library Week.
Indeed the time spent, no doubt was valuable beyond measure and would be long cherished and adored by the parents and the children.
