The much awaited Annual Sports Day of the Junior Middle was held on Thursday 31st of January, 2019 with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The Chief Guest was none other than our Principal and CEO, Mr. Srivalsan Murugan. The Headmistress Ms. Sindhu Padmanabhan, and Supervisors of all departments graced the occasion.

The theme of this year’s sports day was ‘Tolerance’, which was evident from the ambience. The day started with the lovely rendition of the UAE and Indian National Anthems by the Junior Middle choir followed by  the impressive march past- a highly competitive event where the four houses eyed for the first place, the torch relay by the four sports champions of the Junior Middle. The Principal took the salute and declared the sports meet open. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath administered by the Sports captain.A lively welcome song by the Junior Middle choir set the tone for the rest of the events. Mohammed Nehan of grade 6 welcomed the gathering followed by an inspiring address by the Principal.

An amazing Ayala dance by 148 students followed the march past, which was in tune with the theme of the event- tolerance. It was a spectacular event with the students dressed in the traditional Emirati kandora. The audience was visibly impressed by the impeccable performance showcased by the students. The events that followed were track events , hurdles and relays. Each student got an opportunity to participate either in an individual or a team event. The day was filled with exciting victories and near misses for all the houses. Almost 568 students got the opportunity to be a part of the sports day. A fun time with the staff relay and a 100 meter dash of the parents added to the enjoyment.

Arjun Suresh of grade 6 proposed the vote of thanks. It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish.
