Much Ado About English – Celebrating Language, Literature and Life.

The school successfully conducted a vibrant and engaging English Week from 20th April 2026 to 27th April 2026 titled “Much Ado About English – Celebrating Language, Literature and Life.” The week-long celebration, which also incorporated ‘World Book Day’, was designed to foster a love for reading, creativity, and self-expression among students through a wide array of innovative and interactive activities.

Throughout the week, students enthusiastically participated in diverse literary events. Activities such as ‘Speed Pitching’ encouraged students to present their favourite books within a short time, promoting peer-driven reading recommendations. The ‘Bookstagram’ Wall allowed students to creatively showcase mini-reviews and visually appealing representations of their current reads. The Literary Podcast/Vlog activity enabled students to explore modern digital storytelling formats by discussing genres, interviewing staff, and reviewing books.

Creative expression was further enhanced through activities such as Redesigning Book Covers, in which students reimagined classic and contemporary texts, and Original Soundtracks, in which they curated playlists that reflected characters and narratives. The Six-Word Stories challenge tested students’ ability to convey powerful ideas concisely, and the Extreme Reading Photos added an element of fun by capturing students reading in unique and unconventional settings.

The week culminated in a grand finale held in the school library, presided over by the principal, where all departments came together to celebrate the collective achievements of the students. The finale featured a series of exciting competitions including Shark Tank, Elocution, Humorous Poem Recitation, and Flash Fiction Frenzy, which showcased students’ confidence, creativity, and communication skills.

The success of the English Week stands as a testament to the dedication and creativity of the English Department. The enthusiastic participation of students and the seamless execution of activities highlight the collaborative spirit of the school. Special appreciation is extended to all the English teachers for their tireless efforts in organising and conducting the events.
