Investiture Ceremony 2026–27

13 May 2026

The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2026–27 was conducted on May 13, 2026, with great pride and solemnity, marking a significant milestone in the school calendar. The occasion celebrated not merely the conferring of titles but the nurturing of leadership rooted in responsibility, integrity, and service.

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome to the Honourable Principal and CEO, Mr. Srivalsan Murugan, the Vice Principal, Ms. Sindhu P. Nair, members of the Senior Leadership and Management Teams, parents, teachers, and students. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as the newly elected student leaders prepared to formally assume their roles.

Following the ceremonial march and the rendition of the GEMS Anthem, the event was further elevated by the Principal's investiture prayer, which invoked guidance and strength for the young leaders.  The highlight of the ceremony was the oath-taking and badge pinning of the Prefectorial Board. Aditya Rajesh was appointed Head Boy, with Prasandhip Jawahar as President of the Student Council. They were supported by Raunak Sarkar as the Assistant Head Boy, Ashwin Sathish Kumar as the Secretary, Adwait Datta Sohani as the Sports Captain, Karthik Pillai Kumar as the Assistant Sports Captain, and Geon Jibi as the Sports Council Advisor. The House Captains, Vice Captains, Prefects, and Student Council members were also formally inducted, symbolizing their commitment to uphold the values and ethos of the institution.  The ceremony was further enriched by the presence of the leaders from the Batch of 2026.

In his inspiring address, the Principal emphasized the essence of servant leadership, urging students to lead with humility and purpose, and to strive to make a difference—one step, one action, and one person at a time. He highlighted that true leaders influence direction, set values, and build trust within their communities.  Elaborating on the qualities of effective leadership, he introduced the acronym TRUST, encapsulating the pillars of leadership: Transparency – the courage to walk the talk; Reliability – being consistent and dependable; Understanding – embracing unity in diversity; Support – extending help unconditionally; and Tenacity – the determination to persevere.  He reiterated that leaders who embody these qualities inspire confidence and create lasting impact.

The ceremony also featured addresses by the newly elected Head Boy, President of the Student Council, and Sports Captain, each sharing their vision and commitment to lead with dedication and integrity.  Raunak Sarkar, the newly appointed Assistant Head Boy, delivered the Vote of Thanks.

The Investiture Ceremony 2026–27 stood as a powerful reminder that leadership is not defined by position, but by action, character, and the willingness to serve. As these young leaders step forward, they carry with them the responsibility to uphold the values of the school and to inspire those around them.
