Akshay Bolar Memorial Battle of the Bands – Season 15

The Student Council staged yet another splendid edition of its marquee event- the Akshay Bolar Memorial Battle of the Bands Season 15. Four bands partook in this voyage through the annals of musical history, thus culminating in a resounding clash of melodies. The theme for this edition of the event was ‘The Time Warp.’ Under its aegis, the event witnessed the bands warp through time, performing a mashup, one song from 1990s and 2010s respectively. The power-packed performances riveted the audience as the Sheikh Zayed Multi-Purpose hall witnessed the 90s and 2010s re-incarnated on stage. 

It was a momentous occasion for the Student Council as we marked the crystal anniversary of the Akshay Bolar Memorial Battle of the Bands. The occasion was celebrated with much gusto and gaiety as the pioneers of the event graced the audience with their timeless wisdom and thoughts. The occasion also witnessed members from a former band- Version 2.0 set the stage on fire as they made a triumphant return to OOB’s portals. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed panel of judges- Mr. Warren Isaac,  Dr. Faizan Mehmood and Our Own alumnus, Dr. Pranav Rajasekhar,  Ex-President of the Student Council and three-time recipient of the Best Performer Award.

The victor ludorums of the event were: 

• Issec Abu Varghese (Best Performer)
• Shubhadip Saha (Best Guitarist)
• Genesis (Best Band)

The event was truly an ode to the young virtuosos of OOB. The conclusion of this edition marks the genesis of a new tale for the Student Council, as we already begin to tune the strings for yet another triumphant return.
