Akshay Bolar Memorial Battle of the Bands – Season 17

The Student Council proudly hosted the seventeenth edition of its flagship musical spectacle, The Akshay Bolar Memorial Battle of the Bands. The event was held at the Sheikh Zayed Multipurpose Hall on the 23rd of October, 2025, setting the stage for yet another exhilarating showcase of student talent and creativity.

This year’s event saw four electrifying bands take the stage, each bringing their own distinct sound and flair. The theme for Season 17 was “The Y2K Encore: A Centennial Voyage,” where bands revisited the golden era of 2000s music, reviving iconic hits with their own modern interpretations.

The audience was treated to an unforgettable journey of rhythm and emotion as each band delivered performances that reflected both passion and teamwork. The event was graced by our Honorable Principal and CEO, Mr. Srivalsan Murugan, our Respected Vice Principal, Ms. Sindhu P. Nair, along with the members of the SLT and SMT. Adding to the excitement were our distinguished judges, Ms. Cezina Dsouza, Mr. Paul David, and Mr. Ashlin Thomas, whose expertise and insights elevated the competition to greater heights. 

At the end of this musical journey, Zephyr emerged as the champions of Season 17, claiming the title of Best Band. Aidan Philip (10C) was awarded Best Performer, while Swapneel Biswas (10B) took home the Best Guitarist title.

The Battle of the Bands was a celebration of talent, collaboration, and creativity, hallmarks of the OOB values. The echoes of today’s performances promise an even more thrilling season ahead.
