Inclusion Webinar for Parents
The online webinar titled “The Role of a Multidisciplinary Approach and the Significance of Therapeutic Intervention” was held on 11th October 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Microsoft Teams, attended by parents of Students of Determination, LSAs, and staff.
The session began with Ms. Cinu warmly welcoming the attendees, followed by an insightful address by the Vice Principal, Ms. Sindhu, who emphasized the school’s strong commitment to inclusive education and the belief in every child’s potential. She highlighted that inclusion goes beyond accommodation, it is about creating opportunities for every child to succeed.
Ms. Cinu then introduced the Inclusion Team, appreciating their efforts in fostering an inclusive environment. Ms. Aparna presented the Inclusion Policy and the role of the Parent Inclusion Champion, while Ms. Sharvari spoke about the Teacher Inclusion Champion’s role in addressing diverse learning needs. Ms. Sharon elaborated on the Student Inclusion Champion’s contribution in promoting student voice and peer support.
Guest speakers Ms. Manjoni Vaz (Psychologist and ABA Therapist) and Ms. Jincily Susan Paul (Speech Therapist) from Merint Determination Centre led an engaging session on the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), explaining its five key stages—Assessment, Plan Development, Intervention, Collaboration, and Monitoring—and the importance of therapeutic interventions. They also discussed the Functions of Behavior (Attention, Escape, Tangible, Sensory) and the ABC Model (Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence), guiding parents on effective home management strategies.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where parents actively engaged with the speakers. The webinar was highly appreciated for its valuable insights, practical takeaways, and the Inclusion Team’s commitment to supporting every child’s holistic development and well-being.
